Infant Swimming Resource
Sessions
At BC Aquatics, we are proud to offer Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) lessons that provide life-saving self-rescue skills for infants and young children. ISR is a nationally recognized program focused on teaching children how to survive in the water until help arrives.
Our mission is to give families peace of mind by equipping children with the skills they need to stay safe in and around water.
-
ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) is a specialized method of swim instruction that teaches infants and young children how to respond in a water emergency. Unlike traditional swim lessons, ISR focuses on self-rescue skills, including:
Rolling onto their back to float, rest, and breathe
Maintaining a safe floating position
Swimming to safety (for older children)
These skills are taught through one-on-one, highly structured lessons tailored to each child’s developmental readiness.
-
ISR lessons are designed for children ages 6 months to 6 years.
Whether your child is just beginning their water journey or has prior swim experience, ISR provides critical safety skills that can make a life-saving difference. -
Private, one-on-one lessons
Short, daily sessions (typically 10-15 minutes, 3-4 days per week)
Fully customized instruction based on your child’s needs
A gentle, step-by-step approach focused on consistency and progress
Our goal is to build confidence, competence, and independence in the water while always prioritizing your child’s safety and well-being.

Building Confidence and Safety in the Water
At BC Aquatics, we believe every child deserves to feel safe and supported in and around the water. Our Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) lessons gently guide infants and young children in learning important self-rescue skills, such as floating, breathing, and, when ready, swimming to safety.
Through calm, one-on-one instruction, each child is given the time, care, and encouragement they need to grow in confidence and ability. Our goal is to create a positive experience that not only builds essential water safety skills but also gives families peace of mind.
If you’re interested in learning more or feel ready to begin, we would love to support your family on this journey.
